DRAFT 2022 - NECRIFG Management Plan

The Future Fisheries Management (FFM) Strategy, published December 2020, sets out policy initiatives for the next ten years, which will protect the environment, and support a strong, sustainable, and resilient fishing industry. The FFM National Discussion noted positive support for the Regional Inshore Fisheries Group (RIFG) network, which continues to evolve and is the main vehicle for delivering Government’s vision for local management that is strong, resilient and capable of evidence-based decision making.

Still to be approved by NEC RIFG.

Our Aim

The Regional Inshore Fisheries Groups (RIFGs) aim to improve the management of inshore fisheries in the 0-12 nautical mile zone of Scottish waters, and to give commercial inshore fishermen a strong voice in wider marine management developments.
